Suggestions for a drink at night¶
The danish bodega¶
Around most corners in Copenhagen you will find a local bodega. The interior is often old-school and stained by the smoking which some places still takes place inside. There are dice to play with and there will always be a local sitting at the bar talking to the bartender. The beer selection is the old-school danish beers but in Denmark they are also a cultural institution in their own right - you haven't really been to Denmark without grabbing a beer (or ten) at one of these!
Places near the venue¶
-
Cafeen? (Only for people with a bachelors or working at a university)

-
To øl brewery has their own bar/restaurant nearby our location. Food is good and the beers are usually their own with a decent selection and variety.
-
Part owned by the same guy running Fermentoren - usually sells Dry & Bitter (a good danish brewery also owned by the this guy). The beer selections are usually small but decent and they know their way around a whisky. Usually a pretty cosy place
-
Amager bryghus is one of the best breweries in Denmark. This is their taproom mostly focused on their own beer but also a decent selection of guest breweries. Placed at Nørreport station most of you will come by it naturally and it is a very nice bar.

Vesterbro¶
Vesterbro is a very lively area West of the central station, with lots of restaurants and bars, so no surprise you'll find some nice beer bars there also.
-
Best beer bar in Copenhagen. 24 taps with a wide selection of all the best. Small cosy inside, if it is filled up they have a large garden with heating lamps. Lots of food opportunities nearby at Kødbyen or around almost every corner
-
Placed inside the Copenhagen meat district (Kødbyen) and run by Mikkeller. Serving mostly their own beers along with an american style barbecue. Food is expensive, beers aren't cheap and the selection is usually not too impressive
-
Best beer shop in Copenhagen (Check out their cellar). Across the street they also run a cozy beer bar. Not a lot of taps but always varied in styles and a very relaxed place
-
Few taps but fridges always full of great beers. It's a small and usually quite nice if you want somewhere without a lot of people around
-
Also inside the meat district the brewery Åben has their own taproom. Selection is based on what beers the brewery has been brewing and there is usually not much seating. With beer tanks all over the room the acoustics are rough but it has that brewery feel to it. They also have several different locations around Copenhagen
-
Is beer not your thing? This is a cosy small place that geeks out on absinth! The green fairy is definitely worth a visit - and the absinth is not a strong as you may think.
Center of city¶
-
A rock bar in the center of Copenhagen - lots of whisky, decent selection of craft beer and a great vibe all year round!
-
ALL THE TAPS - roughly 100. A decent place right by the central square in Copenhagen (Rådhuspladsen). Lots of selections and a nice place in general. Usually quite busy in weekends
-
A beer bar for the geeks. All the most hyped beers from Denmark and abroad. The beers are expensive but if you're looking for something to knock you off your feet they are certain to deliver
Best of the rest¶
-
Placed on the other side of Fælledparken in relation to where the course is this bar is a cozy place mostly selling their own brews.
-
Decent bar on Østerbro not too far from the course location although transport is a bit lacking in that direction from our location.
-
Somewhere between a rock bar and an old-school inn this place has a tiny selection of craft beer but is usually a quite fun place.
-
Mikkeller
Mikkeller has several different bars and bottle shops around Copenhagen (even one in the airport - recommended when flying out). In general their prices are on the expensive side and their selections are decent
-
Cosy place a bit further out of town. Right by Valby Parken if you need a bit of nature as well. Cozy place and decent beer selection
-
Do you still believe in the Reinheitsgebot? This place has your back!
