Licensing information for VCFtools is available on the "License" page of the VCFtools web page./

The package is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3.0 (LGPLv3). Users of VCFtools are also aksked to cite a specific paper.

This information is also available in the README.md file and the LICENSE file in the VCFtools GitHub repository.

User-installable modules (and EasyConfigs)

Install with the EasyBuild-user module: 

eb <easyconfig> -r
To access module help after installation and get reminded for which stacks and partitions the module is installed, use module spider VCFtools/<version>.

VCFtools is a program package designed for working with VCF files, such as those generated by the 1000 Genomes Project. The aim of VCFtools is to provide easily accessible methods for working with complex genetic variation data in the form of VCF files.

At this point (August 2022) it is not clear how well this code is still maintained. There are very few recent commits, no releases, and response on issues raised seems to be slow also.

EasyBuild

Version 0.1.16 for cpeGNU 21.12, 22.06 and 22.08

  • We started from the EasyBuilders EasyConfig file for the 2021b common toolchains and added some documentation and tests.

  • For the version for 22.06, a patch was developed based on a recent bug fix in the GitHub repository (and basically the only change since this release or in 3 years).

Archived EasyConfigs

The EasyConfigs below are additonal easyconfigs that are not directly available on the system for installation. Users are advised to use the newer ones and these archived ones are unsupported. They are still provided as a source of information should you need this, e.g., to understand the configuration that was used for earlier work on the system.
