DeepSpeed is licensed under the MIT License, a copy of which can be found in the LICENSE file on the DeepSpeed GitHub.

User documentation

Note that DeepSpeed is now integrated with some of the PyTorch containers, which is a better way to use DeepSpeed on LUMI.

User-installable modules (and EasyConfigs)

Install with the EasyBuild-user module:

eb <easyconfig> -r
To access module help after installation and get reminded for which stacks and partitions the module is installed, use module spider DeepSpeed/<version>.

EasyBuild

  • There is no DeepSpeed support in the EasyBuilders repository.

  • There is no DeepSpeed support in the CSCS repository.

Version 0.7.2 for cpeGNU/22.08

  • The EasyConfig is a LUST development. It currently uses an installation from wheels rather than rebuilding from sources.

  • The postinstallcmds modifies one of the files as otherwise RCCL also detects a network interface it should not use and hangs.
